Samuel Gray Dugmore Bishop

On the morning of 30 April 2009, I went into hospital for an elective caesarean – the baby was not growing particularly well, so it was decided that he/she would be better off out than in. All went well, and at 08:28 our little boy was born with Apgars of 9 and 10. He is smallish – with a birth weight of 2.7kg – but he’s a champion eater so we expect he’ll catch up soon.

Samuel means “God hears”, Gray is David’s second name (and a family name on his mom’s side) and Dugmore is my maiden name (for those who can’t remember that far back).

Matthew has taken it all rather well considering. He has mostly ignored Sam, though he did spend some time throwing him imaginary cheese to eat. He also says “Goodbye” and “See you later” to him very enthusiastically.

We are well aware that challenging times lie ahead, but feel very blessed to have two beautiful, healthy little boys.
