First birthday

We had such a great day last month when Matthew turned 1. David, M and I spent the morning at The Crafty Duck - an animal farm complete with tame goats, bunnies and snakes (!). M loved watching all the unusual creatures.

In the afternoon we had a small party - mostly family, and not many kids. We figured that turning 1 has more meaning for the parents than the child - we had even contemplated just getting a baby-sitter and going out for the evening to celebrate (didn't seem right though:-)

M was given this set of houses/tents/tunnels/fun-things-to-hide in from his Godfamily. They were (and still are) a huge hit.

And with the help of granny and grandpa I managed to ice a cake for him. They gave him a sandpit, which keeps him occupied for at least 2 minutes at a time.
I don't remember mine, but can now say with certainty that first birthdays a fun.

Trouble tripled

"Who? Us?"

"We've got to find a way out of here..."
