A rose by any other name...

This is for all those doubters who thought I would destroy our home's beautiful rose garden
ie me.

But all credit should go to my mom-in-law Margie. She created the garden, despite continual pressure from her sons who thought it would be better to cement it over, and turn it into a basketball court. The pressure continues, incidentally, but having picked this bowl full of buds, I am extremely unlikely to give in.

Injasuthi Hike

A couple of weekends ago we went up to Injasuthi in the Drakensberg with some friends. We hiked up to the beautiful, and very cold, Marble Baths; and spent a fantastic two days messing about in the river, walking the hills, and admiring the stunning scenery.

This first pic is taken at our camp site, just below Cathkin Peak.

We were fortunate to be accompanied by a true mountain goat. Here's a pic of Ryan in his natural habitat.

And here you can also see Ryan's long-suffering wife Taryn (:-), with the boys. The good-looking one is David. On the right. In the green shirt.

This is all just to prove that there's more to our lives than just a picket fence!
